Card for a friend

This is a card I made for an old friend from middle-school who recently had organ transplant surgery. So far she hasn't rejected the organs, but she had a little trouble this weekend and they had to re-start her heart :-( I was already planning to send her a card, but when I heard that news, I made it my top priority to get her the card soon so it can help boost her spirits through this difficult time. I wanted it to be pretty and sweet and encouraging and not be a typical somber "get well card." I used K&Co's "Best of K&Company" paper stack and some K&Co. flower and butterfly stickers. I also used a stamp from the Crafty Secrets "Support the Girls" stamp set. She is such a spirited person and I know she has the strength to pull through this.

Valentine Caardvarks Challenge

This is a card I made and am submitting it to the caardvarks challenge. The challenge required that we use the color red and that we have a heart somewhere in our design. I used K&Company's "Sweet Talk" paper line to create the rays. I used my Cricut to cut out 2 hearts (one is the shadow of the glittered heart). I didn't want to use liquid glue because I thought it would be so messy, so I covered the heart with strips of double sided tape and poured red glitter over it. The glitter stuck so easily and was perfectly flat since it was flat tape and not goopy glue. I love this card and the way it came out and I will probably make other holiday cards with this same sketch in mind :-)

Pretty Birds

I made these cards about a month ago. They are some of the first ones I ever made :-) I fell in love with the birds and the paper as soon as I saw them. The patterned paper as well as the bird stamps are from Martha Stewart Crafts, but I got them at Tuesday Morning for cheap! The birds were $1.99 and the paper pack with 24 sheets was $2.99. WOW! The paper pack is called "Sun Room" and is very bright and cheerful. So, I totally love these cards and wish I could keep them, but they are being mailed off soon as more Christmas Thank-you's.

Charlotte Stamp

This is a card I made for the TGF Challenge. I am giving it as a thank you card for a Christmas gift I recieved. I don't have any good quality markers, so I used some cheap colored pencils, and some of my pigment and chalk ink pads. I think she is adorable. I used Paper Salon's "brown funky floral" paper, as well as My Mind's Eye "Princess Dots" paper from their Kaleidoscope line. The glitter flowers are Heidi Swapp and the stamp is from the Inkadinkado "Friendship" set by Dawn Houser.

My first Post

Hi there! If anyone is actually reading this, this is my first post and it features a fun card I made that I am submitting to the 2S4Y challenge. It is the first challenge I have ever participated in! YAY! The inside of the card reads "Perk Up!" lol...get it? Coffee, Perk up...haha.
Some of the materials I used to make this card are the Crafty Secrets "Coffee & Tea" stamp set, K&Company's "Best of K&Company" paper stack, and, of course, my one and only Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Die #4. Crafty Secrets isn't as well known as the other companies I have mentioned, but their products are very unique and a great quality and I am loving playing with the 2 stamp sets I purchased.
I started making scrapbook pages about 4 years ago, but I haven't done much with it over the past 3 years. I just became interested in it again recently and I am loving all the techniques and ideas I am learning. I will add more things as I have time, so do check back! Bye now!
