Super Quick Engagement Card

Soooo, a few weeks ago my cousin (more like a sister really) got engaged! I am so happy for them. They found each other a year ago on the net only to discover that they acually had some friends in common...small world ;-) You can call it fate then, because they hit it off and have been so in love ever since.

The proposal went like this: They have been reading Lord of the Rings together (his favorite book), so he brought her to their favorite coffee shop and they read out loud to each other for a bit. When it was time to go, she went to the ladies room, and when she came out, he had closed the book and placed the ring right over the ring picture on the cover. About the same time she realized there was a real ring sitting on the book, he had already gotten down on one knee and proposed. AWWWWWW. But wait! There's more... SO of course she said yes, and then he told her that everyone they love was going to be meeting at their favorite restaurant about 4 hours later to congratulate them and have a nice engagement dinner. Of course I was there, along with 19 of their closest friends/family. It was a great evening and she was truly surprised.

I decided to make a card about 10 minutes before I had to leave for the restaurant, so it had to be minimalist :-) I used my stamps to create a monogram of their first initials with his last name's initial in the center. Since it was for a guy and girl, I didn't want to make it too feminine so I stuck with plain but elegant colors. I used my Nestabilities label #4 for the monogram base. The alphabet stamps were by Inkadinkado, the "Somerset Alphabet" set, as well as the "Coffee House Alphabet" set. The "congratulations to you" stamp is a wood-mounted stamp also by inkadinkado. The picture was also snapped in a hurry as I was rushing out the door, so it's not the best representation, but you get the idea :-)
